#1 Director/Sr. Director Strategic Marketing Planning



The Director, Strategic Marketing Planning will manage the Market Research and business analytics functions and staff for the dermatology market.

Responsibilities :

• Oversee primary and secondary market research studies, capacity and resource management and capability development.

• Provide analytical support and direction for US markets and business development & licensing activities.

• Lead efforts of the Market Research team to help drive the situational analyses & commercial assessments of, and input to in-line brands, internal R&D programs projects as well as potential licensing and M & A opportunities.

• Lead product prescription demand and revenue forecast modeling for marketed and pipeline products.

• Manage and apply technical skills for Market Research utilizing a broad knowledge of industry data sources and experts.

• Create and manage Market Research plan budget.

• Serve as a resource to Marketing, Sales, Product and Business Development.

• Prepare and review reports and presentations for internal and external audiences of all levels.

• Identify optimal Market Research data sources and suppliers.

• Demonstrate proficiency in data sources coupled with understanding of the value and limitations of IMS and Scott Levin data.

• Work collaboratively with quantitative mentors and biostatistics.

• Conduct/coordinate quantitative and qualitative marketing research to support promotional strategies for inline products,establish annual revenue forecasts and net present value assessments of new projects/products.

• Support portfolio planning with relative financial metrics (NPV, Cash Flows, etc.) and risk adjustments for portfolio candidates.

• Track performance against forecast and assist in factory sales allocation.

Education and Experience:

The position requires a BA/BS (MBA desirable) and candidates must have at least 10 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, with substantial experience in Market Research and Analysis. A strong understanding of Market Research methodologies e.g., conjoint analyses, etc. is also required.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills as well as creativity and strategic and tactical vision.

• Strong people management credentials including performance management and resource and capability planning/analysis.

• Computer proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
